  • If you rent your residence, we will need the landlord's consent.

  • All dogs who are 6 months of age or older will be required to purchase a dog license.

FAQ

Why do you ask so many questions?

Think about why pets are surrendered in the first place. The top reasons that people give up their pets are:

  1. Moving

  2. Landlord will not allow

  3. Too many animals in household

  4. Cost of pet maintenance

  5. Owner having personal problems

  6. Have no time for pet

  7. Pet illness(es)

  8. Behavior (biting, bad habits, etc)

Many pets are given up because their owners weren't prepared to invest the necessary time and money to care for a pet. In other cases, families and pets are mismatched.  To help prevent such painful situations for both the pets and people involved, we carefully evaluate potential adopters in the hopes of avoiding these mismatched relationships.

Why can't a take the pet home today?

We need a minimum of 24 hours to process your application.  Sometimes your landlord and/or references are not home when we call, or the pet you have chosen needs a vet appointment to be made current on vaccines or to spayed or neutered. We may also have several other applications to process as well as yours. We do our best to process your application as quickly as possible.

How much does it cost to adopt a pet & what is included?

Adult dogs: $70

Adult Cats (1-7 yrs): $70

Senior Cats (8+): $40

All adopted pets less than 6 mths will come with a coupon to cover the surgical cost of the spay or neuter and a 1-year Rabies vaccine.

What vaccines are included with my adopted pet?

Dogs: DAAP which includes; distemper, adenovirus, parvovirus, and parainfluenza. We also vaccinate our dogs with Bordatella (Kennel Cough). Puppies will require booster vaccines with your vet so that are fully protected.

Cats: FVRCP which includes; feline viral rhinotracheitis, calicivirus, and panleukopenia.  Kittens will require booster vaccines with your vet so that are fully protected.

All pets 16 weeks and older will be vaccinated against Rabies.

I'm not sure if the pet is a right fit for my family. Can I bring the pet back to the shelter?

YES! We understand sometimes it doesn't work out, no matter how much you want it to or how much you try.  We would rather you bring the pet back to us, instead of you keeping a pet that you know is just not the right fit.
