Skruffy is a sweet, adorable, and little cuddly boy! Don't be put off by his yappy behavior in the kennel, his personality really shines when he's outside of his kennel confines. Skruffy is the true meaning of companion pet and does have separation anxiety and becomes quite vocal when left alone & to his own devices, so he would do best in a home with another dog, or with a family that is looking for a constant companion. He does great with cats, and although he does like kids, he would do best in a home with older children who understand boundaries. He can be pretty mellow, but daily exercise and maybe an adventure or two is must to keep him truly happy, with long walks on the beach and car rides as those are some of his favs.

In 2018, Ace was rescued from Kivalina and was a long-term resident here at the shelter until his adoption in May of 2020. Sadly, due to some unexpected health issues with his owner, they had to return him to us. Ace is an awesome and loving boy who desperately needs a home. Ace loves car rides, running alongside the 4 wheeler, people (absolutely adores children!), and will often snuggle up beside you. But his one true love is to be outside! We often find that he has drug his blanket outside and is happily curled up on it sleeping. Ace does not like cats nor most other dogs, and needs a home with a secure large yard, doggie door (which we can provide!), lots of walks, hikes and cuddles. A place where he can truly be king of his domain again, as he was in Kivalina.
